| Sponsors The 2011 Kite Festival was a tremendous success. We had over 2300 people attending. As always, a special thank you goes to Heart of Texas Miniature Club for use of their field, Barry and Karen Ogletree and Whatakite for generously coming with their giant kites and bols, John and Laura Shamrock for helping with the bol races, Rob Curnock for being our MC, and MSgt. Gonzales and the Young Marines, and all of our volunteers. It was great watching so many people flying their kites all day long, watching the giant Whatakites, playing with the ground bouncers, joining in the bol races, prize wheel, hula hoop contests, visiting all the vendors, etc. The vendors were pleased as well and several have already told us to include them again next year. Thank you to all of you who gave time, talent, and financially to support this festival and hard of hearing children and youth in McLennan County. The proceeds will be used to help these children and more.
